Well, William made up for holding his poop yesterday by pooping three times today. All where in his under pants and the last required a bath. Mommy was juggling Madelyn, pooping under pants, a very upset William and getting a bath ready all in a very small bathroom. It worked out though. Why was William upset? Not because he had poop up and down his legs, but because it was on the floor. He gets so upset when a mess is made by himself or anyone else. Peeing, on the other hand, is going better. The three day potty training should be over by the end of the night. We'll see how tomorrow goes.
Yes, it does appear that William is wearing the same shirt he had on yesterday. It may be. Not sure. He has two red shirts, but Mommy has been doing so much wash that it could have gone in and put back on in one day.
William cuddling with Duke again and having a snack after his nap.

Madelyn definitely responds to her name. Papa had noticed it a couple weeks ago and he was right. She is adding more and more to her repertoire these days. She wants to be mobile so badly. She pulls herself from sitting to kneeling and standing. When she stands her legs are quit wobbly and doesn't stay up long. She seems to have no interest in crawling. Maybe she will be one of those babies that skip crawling and goes straight to walking. All Mommy knows is that when she does start moving around she is going to be into everything! Including William's toys and that is going to be a whole new situation to work on.
Laura came in on the train tonight! Mommy went to get her in Daddy's pick-up. Pete is expected in after mid-night. Laura is going to use Mommy's van to pick him up from the air port. Last minute, unplanned visit. Daddy is selling them his Subaru and they want it for a road trip next weekend.
Madelyn has been waking up around 4AM the past few night, nursing, then falling back to sleep until 6:15. Mommy could definitely get used to that!
Mommy slept in William's room last night to be there if he needed to go potty through the night. He didn't stir at all and woke up with, not too wet, but pee smelling clothes and bedding. It appears he is too young to even be woken by the need to use the bathroom.
Mimi came over around 9:30 to help ease up the potty training demand on Mommy. She also brought her lovely Dyson which Mommy used to vacuum during naps. Mommy loves the Dyson! Mimi left during naps and came back later since Daddy was going to be home late. She was so awesome and bought take out from Pizza Plant for Mommy and Daddy!
Mommy wishes these pictures weren't blurry. They are great otherwise!

Today was a better day for accidents, but it seems that William is holding not only his poop, which is very common, but his pee too. He went without going pee or poop from 4:00PM to bed time, which was late tonight - 8:30. He is in a pull up so Mommy hopes that he does his business overnight or else her little guy is going to be in a bit of pain tomorrow. Not only that, it will make tomorrow's training even more difficult.
Madelyn isn't really enjoying the potty training. She seems to be bored with being in the house and looking for more to do. The only time she is totally engaged is when the TV is on for William. Mommy would like to refrain from allowing her TV like William until 18months, but doesn't see that happening without a big fight. The alternative would be to limit William's TV to Madelyn's nap time. Maybe since cable is being cut that wouldn't be such a bad idea.
The big red truck arrived at its new home today. Daddy got home from the dealer around 6:30 or so with his new used Chevy Silverado! It appears that William loves the pick-up more than Daddy. He pressed every button, turned every knob and found everything that could be opened.
Quote of the day:
Mommy talking to William: "What do you want with your chicken?"
William: "Marga."
Mommy: "What's that?"
William: "Marga, margarita!"
First full day of potty training consisted of Mommy watching William like a hawk while he plays all day in his big boy under pants and a t-shirt. When Mommy catches him going she lifts him up and brings him to the potty to finish. Well, most of the time he was done by the time they got there and there was a trail of pee on the floor. Mommy washed 20 pair of underwear, a couple t-shirts and spot cleaned two couches, the family room carpet and hardwood floors today. Since William doesn't know how to hold it yet he goes in little dribbles. That made for a lot of under pants changes. Mommy continuously asked him, "Are you dry?" and praised him for having dry under pants. She also kept reminding him, "Tell Mommy when you have to go potty." All in all it wasn't a bad day.
Madelyn is taking feeding herself a step further - she goes right for the bowl. Not a big deal for Mommy. Madelyn gets so messy as it is, giving her the bowl doesn't make that much more to clean up. William, on the other hand, does NOT like a mess.
Madelyn is rockin' with her shaker egg.
Soon after this picture was taken, William started laying on the floor with Duke and would bring a blanket over to cover them up. Mommy felt bad every time Duke got up and walked away. He just doesn't get that William is being so sweet and cute by making sure he is warm and cozy for his nap.
William is pretending to sleep on the floor in this video.
Madelyn tried apple sauce for the first time today. She hasn't gone through all the vegetables yet just sweet potatoes, carrots and winter squash. Haven't even gotten into the greens, but Mommy thinks she is a little constipated and wanted to give her fruit to help regulate her.
Mommy decided, with no warning, that she wanted to start potty training William...today.
That is all that needs to be said.
This morning the family packed up the van and headed out towards Chautauqua. Madelyn took her morning nap on the way there. Blueberry picking with Mimi and Papa was first on the list. Papa found a great location for picking blueberries. It was a first for both William and Madelyn. These blueberries are so good and no pesticides. Mommy was thrilled with that!
There was a lot of water play both in the kiddie pool and the lake. Papa brought the dinosaurs from his house and William enjoyed swimming with T. rex. There was tons of silly time just hanging around too.
Later was Daddy's big birthday celebration at the lake. William and Madelyn helped Daddy open his gifts. Actually, William opened them and Madelyn tried to get everything in site into her mouth. She was successful more times than Mommy would like to admit. Madelyn was especially fond of the yellow ribbon.
Mimi made Daddy's favorite: slush cake. William loved the Cool Whip. Not the chocolate pudding though.
Today Daddy turns 33 AND...Madelyn's first tooth broke through!
Daddy's birthday will be celebrated this weekend at the cottage.
Here Madelyn is chewing on William's toy ant as she is continuing to teeth.

William started The Letter of the Week - N yesterday so he was busy with N crafts today. He made a N with numbers glued to it and an N with newspaper. He sure loves doing crafts.
Out at the lake still and it is hot, hot, hot and humid.
Madelyn took her first swim in the kiddie pool. Complete outfit and all. That's the way to do it.

William and Daddy spent some time in the kayak on the lake.
Mimi and Papa came in from Indiana to spend the night before heading back to Buffalo. William stayed up to see then went to sleep in Papa's room. Mimi went in later to spend the night with him.
Since the 4th of July celebration, parade and fireworks, were yesterday, it was supposed to be a work day. Daddy wanted to get the banister child proofed. A lot easier said than done when there is an eager 2 year old helper. Between that and naps Daddy didn't make much progress. He plans on going out one night after work, getting the job done, staying the night and going straight to work from Chautauqua. It seems to be the only way.
Later, William was being entertaining. He was dancing in an unusual costume.
Then he started to get dizzy. Must of been all he'd been drinking. No! Take a look and see.
Madelyn fueling up for a big day.
Good friends, Katie, Tony and Safina came out to the cottage today. What a great day it was. William, Safina and Madelyn played very well together. They spent time in the kiddie pool, playing in the kayaks, and out in the lake for a tube ride. While Madelyn napped Daddy took William, Tony, Katie and Safina out on the boat.
After a yummy taco dinner everyone sang Happy Birthday to Safina! Yummy brownies (in cupcake form).
Friday, Friday.
Mommy spend the day getting packed for a long holiday weekend at Chautauqua. After naps Mommy, William and Madelyn hopped in the car and drove out. William was asking where is Chautauqua and lake as soon as the Galleria Mall. Mommy put in a movie instead of repeating we have a long way still. Daddy and Duke were at the cottage only a couple minutes after Mommy. Good thing because she couldn't unlock the door.
Daddy mowed the lawn and prepared for the weekend. William watched as Mommy started getting dinner ready.
Madelyn fell asleep in the car so she was up longer than normal. William was pretty excited to be there so bedtime was late for all.
