Friday:
William has been requesting to sleep in his big boy bed for a few days so Mommy and Daddy asked him if he wanted to "get his crib out of here" and he said yes. Daddy and William took it down this morning and it is going out to Chautauqua for Madelyn! Potty training, big boy bed. William is growing up FAST!
Mimi and Papa came over to watch Madelyn and William while Mommy went to the dermatologist. Mimi did a great job getting Madelyn to sleep for her nap. Papa enjoyed Madelyn once she woke up. She was smiling and starring at him for 5 minutes before she decided to play. Mimi was impressed with Madelyn's ability to climb over her legs to get a toy she wants. William enjoyed many books with Papa and showed how great of a big brother he is.
Mommy, William and Madelyn went to Katie and Safina's for a short visit. Madelyn chewed on toys as Safina and William chased each other through the living room and kitchen. They have so much fun together. William was a little grumpy, but he had a poop brewing.
William went down for a nap, but never fell asleep. Mimi and Papa came to pick him up to go to Chautauqua for the night. When they left, Mommy and Madelyn went grocery shopping.
Mommy nursed Madelyn long enough for her to fall asleep in Mommy's lap. It was nice for Mommy. She doesn't get to do that with Madelyn as often as she did with William.
Mommy and Daddy rearranged William's room now that the crib was out. Such a big boy!
Saturday:
After a couple errands, Daddy, Mommy and Madelyn made their way to Chautauqua. William was happy to see everyone. Mommy, Daddy and Madelyn missed William too!
Lots of outside time. Daddy, William and Papa did some fishing. Some at the end of the dock and also out on the boat. William enjoys reeling in the line, but doesn't want to touch the fish. Not much luck. A couple small perch.
Madelyn is such a squirmy wormy. Mimi predicts that she will be a dancer or gymnast since she never stays still. She loves to stand. Standing in your lap, standing on the floor (with assistance, although she is getting stronger), standing on the table, anywhere and everywhere she enjoys standing. Again, once she is mobile, Mommy is in TRROOOUBLE!
William is doing well with the potty. No accidents lately. He is still working on timing for poops, but he is at least going in the toilet.

Mimi, Papa, Daddy and Mommy enjoyed conversation around the fire. William climbed out of his bed after his CD was over and came into the sun room and said out the screen door, "Where is everyone?" Oh, my goodness. Everyone laughed. Mommy and Daddy didn't catch the end of the CD to turn it back on so William took matters into his own hands.
Sunday:
Back home to get ready for the week!
Another week has passed. Wow!
Madelyn is 8 months!!!
And William is 90% potty trained. Still working a bit on pooping. He knows when he has to go it is just getting the timing down.

Friday night the family packed up the car and headed out to visit Aaron and Meredith at their lake house on Schickshinny Lake. Patty, Chuck, their new pup Marti, Eric, Maureen, Leslie and baby Abe were all there too.

Andrew was at Chautauqua this weekend with a few friends when a tornado touched down in Mayville! Yes, crazy, scary. It would have been cool to be there, but super scary too. Mimi and Papa went to visit him on Sunday and she brought William a gift from Andrew. It was an inflatable balloon. William loves blowing it up. Madelyn also enjoys chewing and sucking on its legs and trunk. Thanks uncle Andrew. |

Last week Madelyn moved into her big girl convertible car seat and William got a Britax booster. Getting so big! William's Britax car seat is in Daddy's truck. Daddy pointed out the fact that there is currently $900 worth of car seats between Mommy and Daddy's cars. Not to mention the one in Mimi's and the infant seat that Madelyn no longer uses. Ugh. Expensive.
Madelyn has been crawling backwards and getting aggravated when she isn't reaching the object in front of her. She is such a mover and a shaker. Watch out Mommy once she's mobile.
Madelyn is eating a peach in this video! Beware. Mommy was a bit shaky with this one - motion sickness sufferers: beware!
William received a package in the mail. What could it be?
Great William quotes:William was between Mommy and Daddy. He first runs his finger across Mommy's forehead. "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Stripes." Then he runs his finger across Daddy's forehead. "One, two. Stripes!"
Great...he's counting wrinkles.

(3) The blog is also a journal for William and Madelyn to look back on when they are older to learn what life was like when their memories don't go back that far.

William woke up at midnight last night needing more fever reducing medicine. Daddy slept in his big boy bed with him the rest of the night. Madelyn also made a 3AM wake up call and then up early again at 5:30.
William still had a fever this morning, but thankfully Madelyn is back to her happy self. Having them both sick at the same time would have made for a tough day. Mommy is looking forward to getting out of the house. Between potty training and illness they have been stuck in the house for a week now!
Lots of Mickey Mouse Play House for William today. Mimi stopped by to drop off a Tim Horton's iced cappuccino for Mommy...yummy! Mommy is looking for a good recipe to make them at home. She could probably send William to college with the money she spends at that place and Dunkin' Donuts!
No accidents today, but no poop either.
Madelyn had a great time playing with the baby in the mirror!
And she had green beans for the first time today!
More of the same today. Madelyn still had a low-grade fever - moved onto Ibuprofen instead of acetaminophen - it works better. William didn't wear a pull-up to bed again in hopes that he would repeat yesterday's nap and night with no accidents, but it didn't work out that way. William pooped in the toilet again and had one pee accident. Mommy is pushing it thinking that he will tell her when he has to go. He isn't there yet, so she has to make sure he uses the potty when he is showing signs of having to go.
William and Madelyn played outside for awhile this morning. William mowed and trimmed the backyard. He used his bat for the trimmer. It was so cute. He walked around the whole yard and did it just like Daddy does. Madelyn watched his every move. She sure loves her brother!
Madelyn was playing with the kitchen when Mimi stopped by for a quick hello.
Madelyn only napped for half an hour this morning. Ah, hem...William. This (and still being sick) threw off Madelyn's entire sleeping schedule for the day. Madelyn started her afternoon nap before lunch and as Mommy was reading to William before nap time Madelyn woke up.
Madelyn had a couple of sensory experiences today - petting Duke and playing in the grass. She isn't phased much be these textures. In fact, she would love to learn more about them by putting them in her mouth. Mommy stopped her though, don't worry.
William woke up this morning with big boy under pants on instead of a pull-up. Daddy forgot to put one on last night. William seemed dry and didn't smell of pee. Did he make it through the night? His morning pee wasn't that much so no one is sure.
Both Madelyn and William woke up with low-grade fevers this morning. No fun. Poor Madelyn seems to have it worse than William. Madelyn's temperature was 101.2 and Mommy couldn't get William's. He wouldn't keep the thermometer in his mouth long enough. He wasn't as hot as Madelyn, so not a big deal. They both had acetaminophen this morning. After Madelyn's morning nap Mommy had a difficult time keeping her happy. Mommy felt bad.
William went POOP on the toilet today! It was very exciting for Mommy. William, however, could have cared less. He didn't even want to go down stairs to get 10 mini-M&M's. Apparently, Mommy interrupted his play time. He went right back in his room and continued where he left off.
Madelyn wasn't thrilled with the production Mommy was making over the poop. She looked at Mommy and puffed out that cute lower lip and then started crying. Ugh.
The pooping wasn't initiated by William. Mommy put him on the toilet, probably four times before he went. She knew it was coming though and finally it did...in the toilet. The fewer poopy underwear Mommy has to clean the better. Although, Daddy had his fair share this weekend. It kind of put him in a mood.
William beat the heck out of Mommy today while getting ready for his nap. He kicked her in the stomach numerous times while they were talking about his day and once so hard he knocked her off the chair. A quick explanation: it is a chair and a half and Mommy curls up with her back facing the room and William sits (when talking about his day) and lays (when singing) against Mommy or the back of the chair. Today he was sitting and kept straightening his legs into Mommy's stomach. He jerked around so quickly that he knocked Mommy in the head with his. Mommy stopped singing because it hurt so badly and William started to whine saying, "Finish song."
William wore his under pants for his nap and woke up dry again! He and Madelyn played in his crib for a little.
Mommy knew William should have pee'd after his nap, but he kept saying no and she doesn't want to pressure him. He pee'd while on his tower and said, "Clean that up." Oh, well. At least he doesn't ignore it.
Madelyn wasn't happy most of the afternoon and early evening. Once she was in bed the tension in the house eased up. She whined all day. It can be wearing on everyone. Hope she feels better tomorrow.
William, Daddy and Mommy checked on the garden before it was time for William to go to bed. Things out there aren't looking bad.

Madelyn woke up with her second bottom tooth this morning! Yay Madelyn! Daddy said, "Maybe that's why she's been so fussy." Maybe, but have you met Madelyn? Kidding. She is a happy little girl most of the time now.
Car #1: Daddy and William washed the inside and outside of Mommy's van. William thoroughly enjoyed himself.
Later, Daddy took Mommy's van to Poppy's to change the front rotors. Busy couple of days for Poppy. Everyone appreciates it!
Car #2: Laura and Pete headed back to Poppy's this morning to do a little more car work. When they got back later in the afternoon they also washed their car inside and out.
Once their car was ready to go and packed Laura and Pete headed out. They will be missed until next time, but everyone was so excited to have them over!
Daddy came back from Poppy's and William wanted to visit the pick-up. So, the entire family ventured out. The interior has not gotten old for William. He was too busy to even look at Mommy for a picture.
William had no pee accidents today! He even went inside to go while washing Mommy's van in his swimming trunks. Daddy took him to run a short errand and William went pee before they left. One poop in his under pants. He will get it. He is doing great! Such a big boy!
William did so well today with potty training. No pee accidents until later in the evening when he was in Mommy's van, "visiting." A quick explanation: ever since Daddy brought his truck home for the test drive William has been asking to visit it when it is in the driveway. He also visits Mommy's van. William was visiting Laura while William was pressing buttons and climbing around. Mommy wasn't watching him like she had been the first three days. He said, "Clean that up, Nom." He pee'd a little bit on the seat. It was very small and Daddy took him to see if he had to go more, but he didn't. Mommy is not sure how to get William to tell Mommy or Daddy that he has to go. Mommy basically sees the cues and says, "I think you have to go pee." Since Mommy didn't see the cues and he didn't tell her before it happened, he went in his under pants. Hopefully it will come in the next couple of days. He pooped once in his under pants. He'll get it. He is doing well. Mommy and Daddy are so proud.
Pete and Laura went to Poppy's today to work on the Subaru. Laura came back and spent quality time with William and Madelyn. And there is that red shirt again.
Later, Laura had dinner with the family. Pete was still working on the car, but came in later and had some left overs. Thank you Daddy for shopping for all the ingredients and Daddy and Laura for preparing dinner. So yummy. William helped with the stuffed pepper appetizer. The peppers were from the garden.
